Grow A Garden Weight vs Value Explained (Squared Scaling)

May 3, 2026 · 1 min read

If you've ever wondered why one watermelon sells for 5,000 coins and another for 50,000, the answer is weight. Here's Grow A Garden weight vs value explained — including the quadratic formula that nobody tells new players.

The squared weight rule

Value scales with (weight / baseWeight)². A fruit at 2× the base weight is worth 4×. At 3× weight, 9×. At 4×, 16×. This is the single highest-impact stat in the game.

Mutations that boost weight

These mutations directly increase fruit weight — and therefore squared value:

  • Chocolate +25% weight
  • Wet +15% weight
  • Bloodlit +30% weight on heavy fruits

Reading efficiency scores

Grow A Garden Calculator Pro shows an efficiency score — coins per kilogram of harvested weight. Higher is better. Use it to compare two harvests of the same plant and see whether your mutation strategy is actually paying off.
