Grow A Garden Calculator: The Complete Guide to Calculating Crop Values
June 18, 2026 · 2 min read

Introduction
Crop value in Grow a Garden is not a single number — it’s the product of several stacked variables. The Grow A Garden Calculator on this site automates the math, but understanding the formula gives you an edge whether you’re farming, trading or hunting limited mutations.
This guide is part of our Grow a Garden knowledge base. If you want to put what you read here straight to use, head to the Grow A Garden Calculator on the homepage.
The core formula
Every harvest follows this formula:
Value = base × (weight ÷ base weight)² × growth × (1 + sum of mutations) × friend boost
Plug those five inputs into our Crop Value Calculator and the answer appears in real time.
1. Base value
Each crop has a fixed Sheckle base value. Common crops like Carrot sit around 22¢; mythic crops like Sunflower hit six figures. Check the crop value list for the full table.
2. Weight
Weight is squared in the formula, so doubling weight quadruples value. This is why a heavy Watermelon can be worth more than a perfect-weight Apple.
3. Growth mutation
Gold (×20) and Rainbow (×50) growth mutations are the single biggest multipliers in the game. Always look for Gold/Rainbow crops before selling.
4. Environmental mutations
Mutations like Shocked, Celestial and Voidtouched add to a shared multiplier pool. Stacking five or six of them can take a crop’s value from thousands to billions. Try it in our Mutation Stacking Calculator.
5. Friend boost
Selling next to friends adds up to a +50% bonus. It’s small per crop but matters at scale.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are my values different from in-game?
Tiny differences come from rounding and the in-game weight floor. Our calculator uses the same soft floor so totals match within 1–2%.
Does Wet count as a mutation?
Yes. Wet, Chilled, Frozen and Drenched all add to the mutation multiplier pool.
